Ane/Anne Marie Iversen Johansen Christiansen

Ane was born on March 18, 1786 in Rakkeby, Jhoring, Denmark.  She died on April 4, 1871 in Ephraim, Utah.  Her parents were Iver Olsen and Anne Jensen.

Ane was nineteen when she and Ole Johansen wed, a young woman of great streagth, conviction and of commitment.

She was sixty-three when her husband died, her family mostly grown, her oldest child was forty-two years old and her youngest seventeen.  Her life could have been rooted in the place she knew as home but she heard the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was determined to join the Saints in Utah.

At the age of seventy-one, she looked to the future and was the first in her family to join the Church, an example for her children to aspire to, leaving behind all she had ever known for a conviction of what should be, and began the journey to fulfill it.

She married Christian Christiansen one month after arriving in the Salt Lake Valley and was married for fourteen years before she passed away in Ephraim, Utah at the age of eighty-five.

Six of her children came to Utah after their mother did, and all acknowledge Anne's contribution to their lives.
