George Taylor
George Taylor was born on March 16, 1830 in Woodborough, Nottinghamshire, England. He died on December 11, 1915 in Ephraim, Utah. His parents were Thomas Taylor and Hannah Nichols.

George Taylor was raised on a farm, and was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was 13, on May 14, 1843. In 1853, at the age of 23, he traveled with pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Appleton M. Harmon Company to the Salt Lake Valley.
When he was 26, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in his homeland country of England, from 10 Sept, 1856 to 21 Jun, 1858. When he returned, he traveled to the Salt Lake Valley with a pioneer company named "the John W. Berry Company" in 1858.
He then learned the trade of sawyer, and followed it until 1895.
George was also elected the first mayor of Ephraim and served in the office for three terms. He was a member of the legislature in 1868 and took an active part in the Black-Hawk war. He also served as a bishop's counselor for a number of years.
He married Mary A. Quinn, and they had seven children, named Mary, Harriet, George, Elizabeth, Thomas, Zina and Precinda.
