Lars Stribe Anderson
Lars was born on 16 April 1824 in Strib, Vejlby, Odense, Denmark. He died on 7 September 1901 in Ephraim, Utah. His parents are Anders Larsen and Ane Cathrine Hansdatter.

Lars chose the occupation of a fisherman. He was in the War of 1848-1849 between Denmark and Germany. He4 first heard the gospel of Jesus Christ on September 1851 and was baptized into the Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 6, 1852.
On the 10th day of may 1852 he married Annie Sophia Larsen. In 2852, he was called to preside over a branch of the Church in Slettin County in Feyen and on the 27th of November 1855 he and his family started for Zion. They secured passage on the "John J. Boyd" ship and left Liverpool on December 12, 1855. The voyage across the sea took 11 weeks and 3 days. During this voyage across the ocean, their three-year-old boy was taken seriously ill and died. He was buried in the mighty ocean.
In the Spring of 1856, they crossed the plans with ox team under Canute Peterson and arrived in Salt Lake City the 20th day of September and on October 3rd, arrived in Ephraim. After arriving in Ephraim Lars constructed a home which was a dug-out built in the bank with three side walls and making the outer wall of cedar posts. Poles and brush covered with soil made a mud roof.
Lars took part int he Johnson and Black Hawk War. He was active in guarding the people and helping in all problems pertaining to building up a new country. He made it his business to be friendly to the Indians.
In 1867, Canute Peterson was called to leave Lehi and move to Ephraim, to be the Bishop. He chose Lars to serve as his counselor, a position he held until 1877, when he was appointed to serve as Bishop of the Ephraim North Ward. The Stake was organized on July 4, 1877. At this time, Ephraim was divided into two wards, the North Ward and the South Ward.
The North ward had 582 members and 125 children. He served as Bishop for 24 years until his death in 1901.
Bishop Anderson was very energetic and sincere in his religious duties asnd was loved by all.
He served as a City Councilman for eight years and as the director of the Co-op Store for eight years.
He served a mission to Norway in 1873-75 presiding over the Christiania Aarha conference and a mission to Denmark in 1887-89 presiding over the Aarhas conference. In returning from his first mission he was accompanied by 176 emigrating saints from Norway. Returning in 1889 he had charge of a company of 347 emigrating saints.
