Maren Pedersen Andersen/Anderson
Maren was born on November 19 1819 in Fly Denmark. She died on April 23 1889 in Ephraim Utah. Her parents were Peder/Poder Jensen and Anne Cathrine Olsen

Maren and her husband were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, July 6, 1854. On November 29, 1855, they left Copenhagen for England, together with their four children. In December, they sailed form Liverpool to NewYork.
They arrived in New York on February 15, 1856. Twelve days later, Maren gave birth to a baby girl.
After making their way to Florence, Nebraska, they prepared for the journey west across the Plains with a wagon train.
Maren's baby died just two weeks after they reached the Valley. They were directed to join the other Scandinavians and locate in Ephraim, Utah. They experienced drought and grasshoppers with resulting crop failures; they knew the trials of Indian raids; they learned how to subsist on sego lily roots and other available edible plants.
Maren was known as Mary Jensen Anderson in her new homeland.
